Heat and sunlight are the main threats to a collection here. A whiskey room works best on an interior wall or in a room with limited west-facing glass, and windows should have UV-filtering film or shades. ## Whiskey Room Questions

### Should whiskey bottles be stored upright?
Yes. Unlike wine, whiskey should be stored upright because the high alcohol content can deteriorate a cork if the bottle lies on its side. Keep bottles away from sunlight and heat, and the spirit stays stable for years after opening if sealed well.
