Its residences run from about 2,159 to 2,420 square feet, with penthouse units slightly larger, and offer two bedrooms plus a den or three bedrooms, two baths and a two-car garage. Views take in preserve, lake or the Tiburon golf course, and recent asking prices have ranged from about $1.1 million to just under $2 million. Most Castillo kitchens and baths are original or once-updated, which makes a full remodel worth planning. Removing that soffit and running cabinets to the ceiling is the first step in most of our plans. Owners then add a quartz or quartzite top, a tile or slab backsplash and an island or peninsula with seating if the space allows. In the three-bedroom plans, a small dining area next to the kitchen can often be absorbed to make room for a peninsula with stools. Older condo kitchens often have limited electrical circuits, so we review capacity before specifying induction cooktops or added appliances. Ventilation is another check, since many units use recirculating hoods. Within those limits, a Castillo kitchen can feel brand new with lighter cabinetry, integrated lighting and better storage.
